Universal Pure is hiring a Quality Supervisor as a full time, permanent role in Lincoln, NE.

Universal Pure was founded in 2001 as a cold storage warehouse facility in Lincoln, NE with deep roots in the cold supply chain. Over time, our customers needs grew for other integrated food and beverage services, so we expanded their capabilities and footprint to meet the needs of our growing customer base. Now Universal Pure is a one-stop-shop HPP service provider to the food and beverage industry, offering a suite of cold chain solutions at eight U.S. facilities, across seven locations.

Our Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor will provide guidance, coach, and train our technicians to ensure that they deliver maximum quality in a profitable manner while upholding quality control standards. Your duties will include monitoring employees organizing workflows, analyzing the efficiency of manufacturing processes, performing product testing, ensuring standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved, and ensuring our inbound and outbound products meet all quality control and safety standards. Quality Assurance Supervisor Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists the Quality Assurance Manager in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Program instructions
  • Work with Production Managers, Supervisors and Leads to monitor and document the food safety and food quality of raw and finished products; report any deviation from quality of service that may become a potential liability
  • Supervises the time and production records as required
  • Ensures product is processed to company HACCP/HARPC programs
  • Informs Quality Assurance Management of ANY food safety tasks or updates
  • Implements and Manages food safety corrective actions
  • Prioritizes and performs position responsibilities accurately and to deadline
  • Provides assistance to local and corporate management in carrying out changes to the food safety system of the facility; giving assistance in creating, reviewing, authenticating, and maintaining food safety system documents, including standard operating procedures and programs working in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team; provides assistance in maintaining document registers and documentation.
  • Provides daily monitoring of QA personnel to ensure compliance to food safety system of the facility; performs or directs those performing formal audit on GMP.
  • Ensures training of facility personnel on GMP's, Risk Preventive Controls, Hazard Analysis, Pre-requisite programs, and other applicable food safety system elements as required.
  • Safely keeps records of all facility analytical results; immediately reporting results discovered to be out of specification to the QA Manager.
  • Keeps documented reports of analytical results submitted to QA Manager, also responsible for tracking and reporting data trends.
  • Responsible for QA Techs inspecting raw materials coming in; investigates non-conformance and complaints about product; and provides leadership for the facility team in performing self-audits.
  • Responsible for hosting visitors to the facility with the Plant Manager, including regulatory agency representatives and customer representatives
  • Possesses an innovative, resourceful, and proactive disposition, committed to ensuring continuous improvement of capacity and quality service.
  • Handles any minor tasks related to the position.
Quality Assurance Supervisor Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Minimum 2 years QA leadership experience required, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a USDA and/or FDA food manufacturing/processing environment is strongly desired.Bachelors degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology, or food science is desirable
  • Quality Assurance Certification in SQF, HACCP, and GMP
  • Good computer skills including Word and Excel

  • Knows and understands the applicable FDA regulations and GMPs
  • Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve results

  • Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations
  • Ability to manage time effectively including consistently be on time to work, meetings, and training sessions
  • An ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English. Consistently communicate verbally or written, any pertinent information regarding food safety, food quality, or quality assurance matters to QA team, QA Manager, operations and when appropriate customers
  • Extreme detail orientation and thoroughness.
  • Flexibility with work schedule to meet the needs of the operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skill with internal and external customers.

. Quality Assurance Supervisor Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • This position will be performed both within our office environment and our production floor which is a wet/cold environment (around 35 degrees F) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production type facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures
