About the Role:
As a Medical Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in supporting a dynamic Care Team of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). Your responsibilities will include gathering essential medical information from patients and handling administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations and patient care.
Key Details:
Position Type: Full-time
Hours: 40 hours per week, with shifts between 7am - 10pm EST
Reporting To: RN Manager
Location: This is a remote, work-from-home position. Candidates must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Virginia. Note: This list may change.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $20/hr
Benefits: Includes employee benefits, monthly vacation accrual up to 10 days per year.
Responsibilities:
Provide live video, phone, and messaging support to patients.
Assist your Care Team, including virtual physicians, APPs, and RNs.
Manage each patient's care needs from initial outreach through resolution.
Help with the order process, including sending requisition forms and coordinating referrals.
Follow up with providers after referrals, including collecting patient notes.
Schedule follow-up appointments with patients.
Contact providers and facilities to clarify information and resolve complex cases.
Coordinate with internal and external parties (Laboratories, Imaging Facilities, Pharmacies, Vendors) to meet patients' needs.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a primary care, urgent care, or multi-specialty clinic.
Medical Assistant Certification or Diploma.
Bonus Points:
Experience in a virtual practice environment.
Fluency in Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking).
