HOUSEKEEPER/JANITOR

Natchez Trace Youth Academy is a highly-structured 115-bed cognitive behavioral program serving adolescent males ages 10-17 years old. Our interdisciplinary staff helps residents refocus their thinking patterns in order to improve their actions/behavior. Our diverse team works together to facilitate the changes that become an investment in the future of each young man's life and his family's life. We are located in the beautiful hills of Tennessee between two magnificent rivers, just 15 miles south of Waverly, Tennessee. Natchez Trace Youth Academy is seeking a Housekeeper/Janitor in accordance with the responsibiliies below. This individual is responsible for overseeing the overall cleanliness of the facility and daily upkeep of the public areas, while adhering to the company's Service Excellence standards.  This is a Monday-Friday position with some flexibility on hours for typical 40-hour work-week. NO WEEKENDS!

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Clean floors: lobby, entryways, restrooms, hallways, classrooms, conference rooms, and student restrooms. All dormitory floors will be checked regularly and buffed and/or waxed as needed. Clean all student bathrooms and staff bathrooms in the Administration Building twice/daily.
• Inspect buildings while performing regularly assigned duties for maintenance needs (lighting, repair needs), and submit maintenance requests as necessary.
• Collect and dispose of Administration building trash. Coordinate removal of all hazardous and/or oversized waste with the help of plant operations.
• Conduct visual inspection of all facility cleaning and paper supplies on at least a weekly basis. Notify requisitions of all restocking needs.
• Ensure that all cleaning equipment is kept in good working order. Lock equipment away from client access when not in direct use. Keep equipment within eyesight and away from client access when in use.
• Assist in preparation for special functions, tours, and inspections.
• Physical effort found in normal Housekeeping/Floor Tech environment.
• Occasional strenuous effort (e.g. buffing floors, prolonged standing/bending, etc.).
• Frequent/strenuous physical effort lifting up to 50 lbs (e.g. lifting, moving heavy objects, etc.).

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalency required
• Minimum of one to three years related experience and/or training
