Role Overview:
We're excited to welcome a passionate Clinical Assistant to join our Unified Care team. In this role, you'll be integral to developing and implementing an innovative, team-based chronic disease management program. You'll work with advanced health devices and our Unified Care platform to assist patients with chronic conditions, both on-site and online, collaborating with a dynamic clinical team.
This position is based in a fast-paced Primary Care clinic setting, where you will provide direct patient care and help coordinate team efforts to achieve our goals. The role is also eligible for clinical hours that can be applied towards medical school, PA, or nursing school applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Tech Support: Use your tech-savvy skills to assist with internal messaging channels and explain technology to patients. You'll teach elderly patients how to use mobile apps and medical devices and help them troubleshoot any tech issues.
Patient Care: Assist with direct patient care procedures such as checking in patients, obtaining patient histories, taking vital signs, preparing charts, and assisting with medical examinations.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in electronic health records.
Specialized Procedures: Set up medical products for patients according to established protocols.
Lab and Test Management: Obtain necessary labs and tests as requested by the provider.
Inventory Management: Oversee clinic inventories and manage medical supplies.
Patient Education: Educate and advise patients on medical issues within established guidelines and obtain prescription information as needed.
Clinic Flow: Direct patient flow according to provider schedules and maintain examination rooms.
Administrative Support: Coordinate routine office activities and administrative functions to support clinic operations.
Safety and Outreach: Follow safety protocols, perform patient outreach calls to schedule appointments, provide follow-up care information, and promote health education.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Associate degree or higher is required.
Communication: Exceptional communication skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to explain technology concepts clearly and patiently.
Empathy: Demonstrated patience and empathy, particularly when interacting with elderly patients.
Medical Knowledge: Familiarity with basic medical procedures and terminology is a plus.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
Teamwork: Collaborative team player with potential for leadership, able to motivate peers and maintain precise records.
Language Skills: Bilingual abilities are a plus (e.g., Mandarin, Spanish, Cantonese, Tagalog, Vietnamese).
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in computer operations and platforms such as Google Workspace (Chat, Docs, Spreadsheets, Slides) and Zoom.
