Bookkeeper | Tulsa, OK
Salary: $22/hour
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with QuickBooks, be adept at managing financial records, and possess a versatile skill set to assist in various aspects of our business operations. This role requires someone who is organized, efficient, and a true team player.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks.
- Create and enter Purchase Orders (POs) and Bills into the accounting system.
- Process and enter payroll data accurately and timely.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable and receivable.
Customer Service & Retail Support:
- Answer phones and assist customers with inquiries in a professional manner.
- Operate the cash register and process customer transactions as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Administrative Support:
- Assist with inventory management and order processing.
- Handle general administrative tasks to support the day-to-day operations of the business.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth business operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a retail or agricultural setting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
- Experience with payroll processing and basic HR functions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

* Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.
* Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
* Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
* Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
* Operate 10-key calculators, typewriters, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.
* Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers.
* Code documents according to company procedures.
* Perform financial calculations, such as amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, equity, and principal.
* Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
* Perform general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
* Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
* Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
* Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
* Perform personal bookkeeping services.
* Prepare and process payroll information.
* Prepare bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to banks.
* Compute deductions for income and social security taxes.
* Calculate and prepare checks for utilities, taxes, and other payments.
* Monitor status of loans and accounts to ensure that payments are up to date.
* Reconcile records of bank transactions.
* Compile budget data and documents, based on estimated revenues and expenses and previous budgets.
* Compare computer printouts to manually maintained journals to determine if they match.
* Transfer details from separate journals to general ledgers or data processing sheets.
* Complete and submit tax forms and returns, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other government documents.
* Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures.
* Calculate costs of materials, overhead, and other expenses, based on estimates, quotations and price lists.
* Prepare purchase orders and expense reports.
* Prepare trial balances of books.
* Compile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
* Maintain inventory records.
